Partnership with the St. Gallen Symposium

Since its inception, the Max Schmidheiny Foundation has maintained a close partnership with the St. Gallen Symposium, which was the venue for the presentation of the annual Max Schmidheiny Freedom Prize between 1979 and 2003. The St. Gallen Symposium is an international management symposium at the University of St. Gallen which each May brings together participants from more than 50 countries – 600 prominent decision makers from business, politics and society, 200 selected students and 100 media representatives – who conduct a dialogue on key issues in management, the entrepreneurial environment and the interfaces between business, politics and civil society.

In the future, the Max Schmidheiny Foundation will continue to play an active role in the discussions at the St. Gallen Symposium. Furthermore, it serves to unite the liberal values that it shares with the St. Gallen Symposium and its organisers, the International Students’ Committee (ISC) St. Gallen and the St. Gallen Foundation for International Studies.
